Snake Draft

Players draft characters in order for odd rounds then draft in reverse order for even rounds.

Teams

400 points

No feats, ATAs, BFCs, or special objects

You must play every character you draft before playing that character again.

Bonus Draft

After half the games are played the last place team may draft one character from the original post-assassination pools. This character is added to a player's unplayed pool.

Trading

3 maximum trades, trading ends after Bonus Draft.

(This is not necessarily final and is based on 16 players split into 2 divisions)

Draft Pools

For each set; 3 of every common, 2 of every uncommon, 1 of every rare, and half of the super rares which will be randomly chosen Wednesday April 13.

Assassination Round

Players will chose a character slot to remove from the draft (i.e. if you chose a common character all 3 will be removed from the draft). When it is your turn to choose you will have 1 minute to make a choice. 

Snake Draft

Players will draft characters in order of their position. After a full round, drafting is repeated but in reverse order of position. This process is repeated for 8 rounds. Example: player in position 1 drafts first in every odd round and last in every even round. When it is your turn to choose you will have 1 minute to make a choice.

Second Set Draft

The assassination round and snake draft are repeated for the second set, but players positions' start reversed (i.e. if you drafted first in the first set you draft last in the second set)

Trading

You may trade up to three characters, and the trade must be one for one. The character you receive will be treated the same as the character traded away (e.g. if you traded away an unplayed character the character you get is considered unplayed). You may not trade for a character that you traded way. All trading ends after the Bonus Draft.

Build Restrictions

Teams may only contain characters that have been drafted and are unplayed, excepting overlap games (described below). You may not play more of a character than what was drafted (e.g. if you drafted 2 Hellfire Guards you may have no more than 2 on your team), and in cases where a character may be substituted for another character (e.g. Beast Boy's Morph special power) or brought in from outside the game, you must have also drafted the character that is being brought in and it must be considered unplayed. It is best to think of your entire collection of consisting of only characters you have drafted.

Schedule

The regular season schedule will have everyone play everyone else in their division once in a round robin format. The schedule of an 8 player division will be the same as season 1.

Overlap Games

All characters are considered either unplayed/available or played. All characters start as available until used in a game. A team can only consist of available characters unless it is an overlap game. An overlap game occurs when you no longer have any available characters, then you may use previously played characters. After an overlap game is over all characters become available again except for characters that were used that had been previously played.

Bonus Draft

After half the games are played rounded down (currently game 3), the player in last place (per division) will get to draft one character from the original post-assassination pool of characters. This character can not be used in the play-offs.

Ranking

Done by win-loss record then points then head-to-head.

Playoffs and Inter-League Games

After the regular season we will have playoffs consisting of the top 3 teams in each division: 2nd vs 3rd with the winner playing 1st. Then the division winners playing for the championship. Other players who did not make playoffs can and should play an inter-divisional game with their matched ranked opponent. You may use only one team for all playoff (and inter-divisional) games, but all drafted characters are considered playable.

Reporting

The winner of the game has 72 hours in which to report the score. The score must be reported on the forums as described in the forums. Every 24 hours late will be a loss of 10 points, if more than a week late a loss will be recorded. Everyone will be allowed one late reporting which will be accounted for at the end of the season; the worst violation will be removed.

Proxy Players

The proxy system should be used as a last resort. Sanctions will be applied to players who abuse the system. There will be a 2 week count down starting from when the next game is announced (the proxy day will be part of the announcement). If the game hasn't been played by then a player will be recruited to play the game. Ideally, the proxy player will come from the other division and must be of the same ranking or lower (if available). The proxy player will be chosen by the present player. As an incentive for the proxy player, if the proxy player wins they get one free theme team re-roll to use in a divisional game.

Champion

Instead of waiting for mid-season, I'll go ahead and announce that the champion will once again choose the 2nd set for season 4. The first set should be Captain America. The choices for the 2nd set will be: Avengers, Mutations and Monsters, Crisis, Secret Invasion, Arkham Asylum, and All Mini-Packs Combined (i.e. Alpha, Classics, Blackest Night, Brightest Day). Format may change but will be a group decision.
