Bay Area HeroClix League

Decided to have one thread for Click Master related updates.

Time for a File-Update for desktop, and a Setting-Update Now for Android. It will take a few seconds to download, and you may have to restart for some changes to take effect on the desktop.

This is not a program update just a sets update.

What's new:

Green Lantern Gravity Feeds added

Retirement

New GSX Colossals

Player's Guide changes (e.g. lots of special objects and some special powers )

Various character fixes (e.g. Omega Prime flys, Domino is common, etc.)

Upgraded both Desktop and Android.

Desktop only updates:

Card Printing 

This is the biggest update here. You can now print character cards, feats/ATAs, BFCs, and objects. Please note the printed cards do not include various images only game related info. So, prinitng out the Kinetic Accelerator does not print the actual object, and printing Juggernaut's card will not include his image or background info, but it will include his keywords, standard power names (i.e Charge instead of  Unstoppable), special powers, etc.

Cards can be printed front and back, so you can cut them out and fold them over. You can also print front only and back only to do double sided printing.

As part of this, I've added a "General" set that can be seen in the Collection view. This set includes any "setless" items: ATAs and regular objects. I did this so that you could print out however many ATAs you would want.

Combined updates:

The in-program updating feature has gotten an overhaul. It is now faster and should be more responsive. It will also check to see if any new updates exist whenever you start the application

Green Lantern Sets have been added.

With all these smaller sets that exist I've added an extra button in the sets area that allows you to include or exclude these small sets (Mini-sets). It works for both display and search purposes.

Various set updates. If someone told me about character X missing Y, I've fixed that.

Colors. I've gone over the colors I used for all sorts of things: powers, rarity, ranking; and made changes where I thought it needed it.

Upgraded both Desktop and Android

Combined:

Captain America and Hammer of Thor: Fast Forces added

Name searching ignores capitalization

Split dial searching: Black Adam & Shazam will now be found when searching HSS on first click

Desktop:

Warning given when adding 2nd unique of a character.

Searching enabled for text of Traits and Special Powers, found in Name searching.

Android:

Internal change to how views work which should fix the force closes that occur after prolonged use.

Searching range values. You can now search a range of values instead of just greater than or less than.

Updater fixed again.

Street Fighter added

Lots of little set fixes: Kitty Pryde keywords, several character with 0 lightning bolts, etc.

Watchmen TAs for some reason weren't on the characters.

Desktop

Windows Installer. For Windows users only, but it should remove most of the questions I get about installing it.

Major UI overhaul on the results and team screens. They look very similar to the Android app.

More sorting options on the results page (e.g. 1st Attack Value, Highest Damage Value, etc).

Auto-naming when saving teams. Same as Android, should save some typing.

Android

Sorting added to search results. Couldn't add as many as the desktop but got most of them.

Removed animation transitions. If there's a big uproar I can add them back but I doubt there will be.

Cleaned up the UI a bit more.

New stuff

Characters now have the following new fields:

Gender: Can be male, female or other/none, and any combination of the three (e.g. duo figures, "female" robots, etc.)

Good to Evil (alignment): Can be good, neutral or evil, or any combination.

Rating: 1-5 stars. You can change it by clicking the rating.

To search by the new fields go to "Misc."

Search by carry ability available. It's the taxi symbol on the movement screen.

Here's how I came up with the new fields.

Gender: This is pretty straight forward. Only robots and non-humanoids caused problems. If something looks wrong let me know.

Alignment: This is definitely hard as characters often switch back and forth. If I was unsure, I would try to use keywords, TAs and sculpts as my guide. I'm sure there are errors here, but I can fix them if enough people disagree on something.

Rating: Crazy hard and time consuming. First off, this is a playability rating. If I rated something high then I believe it will do well in a tournament setting. Most are rated a 3, a character has to be especially good or bad to change that initial rating. In the end, people may agree with me and some will think I'm nuts. So, I made sure it was editable. If you disagree with the rating change it.

Other stuff

October Player's Guide incorporated.

Lots of character fixes: Commander-El, Cypher, Rorschack, etc.

Colossals have several of their special rules listed. I tried to include what made sense like their immunities and such.

LoSH objects. I believe that takes care of all the 3D objects.

Version 1.5 is up

The latest characters and other elements are in. Star Trek, Infinity Gauntlet, Last year's convention exclusives, TRU Colossals, etc.

Attachable items are attachable, ala the Infinity Gauntlet, Champion, Captain America with the Shield, etc

Traits with different icons use those icons.

Event dials

Various set fixes as they've been reported

Updated using the March Player's Guide.

Searching will now include other games elements in a search (e.g. ATAs, objects, etc)

Abilities and Team Abilities that use powers will show up in searches for those powers (e.g. Batman will show up in stealth searches)

Collection (and rating) Synchronization between Android and Desktop, need a USB cable

Android: (over 500 users, yay!)

Ability to save and open Searches (like the desktop)

Folder support for teams and searches

Multiple item collection support. Either popup or a field.

Desktop:

Ability to create a set (create a custom set or just get ahead of me)

Ability to add/edit characters (fix or create custom characters)

Set statistics (for stat junkies like myself)

Popup menu in results/team view

Unfortunately, some changes had to be made on both sides of the application. the in-app updater will NOT get the newest sets you will need to get the new version of the app which does have some useful changes to it.

Galactic Guardians

Team Abilities have been sorted, first by universe (Marvel, multiple, DC, other) and then alphabetically. You can switch to alphabetically only in settings.

Minor set corrections (e.g Eel is dolphin, Red Hulk is Offender,...)

Desktop

Keyword and set list height has been increased

Minor changes to character editor, linked dial works, multiple traits are easier to see.

Android

Using dialogs instead of toast messaging which only displayed for a few seconds.

The above changes will help highlight the help system.

Feature request:

Is there any way to add a "print function" That only lists the cards as text for thier Special Powers and Traits, instead of all the other stuff and in a list form...more like the "Force Sheet List"? That way you can print a whole sheet of the characters you are using and their Special Abilities. Advanced Players all ready know about all the standard PAC powers and all that info is unnecessary for us.

However, I will politely disagree on the advanced players comment. The cards are neccessary not just because they contain keywords and special powers (and are required for tournament play), but they contain all the powers that the character has and in the order that they first appear on the dial. This could be very important for powers like super strength and setting up on the map. So, that other information is really only unnecessary if your opponent already knows the dials.

The in-app updater will NOT get the newest sets you will need to get the newest version of the app which does have some useful changes to it.

I agree and disagree. Cards are only neccesary for the SP/Traits. If all the info was neccesary then in the Player's Guides under characters they would list all the powers on thier cards like you stated.

A seasoned player doesnt really need to know that I have super strength and then I am going to get incapacitate after that, so that extra info is unneccesary. 

Again great app and I like it a lot. Just wish I didn't have to print so much out before I go to my venue. Ill find you on realms...im ibeatdrew there!

On Both

Latest sets added.

Collection system has been updated. It was necessary to allow synchronization via the cloud. It will also allow me to update sets a little more often. Hence the preview sets that are also included.

Minor set corrections.

Desktop

Updater fixed. Should work much nicer when the next update comes. Can also specifically update a single set if desired.

New synchronization. Even added tutorial.

Android

Text wasn't always sized correctly on special powers and traits. It now sizes correctly.

Found several minor bugs that were causing issues when creating the new sets. So, there's a new version out, and I was able to add some things on the way. Since this is an upgrade the in-app updater will not get the new changes or sets. The Hobbit has not been added yet.

Changes:

Added: Batman, Batman: Fast Forces, and previews for Streets of Gotham along with what is currently released for No Man's Land.

support for .tm and .team files between Android and desktop. Copy to the appropriate folder and it should see them.

I can now do more dynamic dials (as can you).

Fixed gg hulk-banner issue.

+Character button works better on desktop.

More customization support:

Use the "custom set" button when creating a set to ensure there is no conflict with new sets.

Custom keywords go into a text file extrakeys.lst in the resources folder. Each keyword goes on it's own line.

On the desktop you can open custom sets from friends by placing the .hcd and .spt files in the sets folder and opening it from the collection view.

On Android place the .hcd and .spt file in the folder Android\data\com.clickmaster.cm\files and press-click the .hcd file (this will require a way to browse your phone)

New version out.

Any set error that has been reported here or to my e-mail should be fixed

Fixes Combined:

Missing sets, this has happened so often that I chucked out the old way of loading sets. It will load any set it finds now which makes it easier if you make your own custom sets.

Updating, more small changes to the updater in order to get it to work for everyone. You can now update by set if needed.

Android fixes:

Settings page is changed a little. E-mail me straight from the app.

Special Powers/Traits text should no longer get clipped or have too much space (this has taken months to find and reproduce).

Reported force closes addressed and some minor bugs fixed.

Desktop fixes:

Slight font change to allow some bolding where appropriate (let me know if you don't like it).

Minor fixes.

New version out.

Newest sets added: Iron Man 3, Teen Titans (and fast forces), 2012 Con Exclusives, previews

Added support for base sizes and real names. Very few real names have been added so far (this could be a good crowd source item).

Also added some other things, like items that are physically linked should update when one item is updated in your collection.

Any set error that has been reported here or to my e-mail should be fixed

All this required quite a bit of database change, and inevitably I am sure something got overlooked, but the masses were calling and I can only test so much on my own.
