Bay Area HeroClix League

Season 6 and we have two fairly evenly matched sets with Hammer of Thor and Galactic Guardians. Quite rare for the league. Still I think Galactic Guardians is probably the better set of the two. Another cool thing is the possiblities of some true theme teams this season.

Galactic Guardians is a good mix of range and close combat. The big downside is most of the characters are quite expensive. So, you're unlikely to use more than a few of the characters that you draft.

1. Gladiator - High attack, damage, defense and hypersonic. I don't forsee him making it out of assassination.

2. Xavin - The Swiss army knife of the set. Need TK, perplex, RCE, close combat? He/she is ready to go.

3. Stranger - The deluxe Swiss army knife. Whatever Xavin can't do Stranger can, but you would probably use him as mostly a beat stick.

4. Silver Surfer - Strong taxi with good damage.

5. Nova Prime - High attack and good synergy with other Corps members.

6. Dr. Strange - pared with his Astrals and his PC makes him very effective.

7. Gamora - High attack and a guaranteed 2 damage makes her very efficient.

8. Cosmo - TK with enhancement and PD make for a very effective combo. Good 2nd click as well.

9. Mole Man - Mole Man? Yes, with all the monsters in HoT he will be a powerful character.

10. Red Shift - Nightcrawler-lite

Also Good: Morg, Fallen One, Magus, Nova Centurion.

Hammer of Thor also has some good variety and a bigger distribution of costs. So, you will find more utility characters to pick, but there are still plenty of big hitters to pick up as well.

1. Captain America - His see through anything power and decent attack and damage ensure his popularity.

2. Nico - The swiss army knife of the HoT set.

3. Thor - High attack and damage. The big stick of any team.

4. Loki #54 - Stealth, psi-blast and PC is a nice combo.

5. Malekith - TK, Mystics, and special mind control make him a must have elf.

6. M-11 - Cheap powerful attacker.

7. Rocket Racoon - Cheap PC.

8. Venom - The ultimate tie up piece. The abundance of phasing, leap and hss does bring him down a bit though.

9. Loki #35 - Psi-blast and perplex always useful.

10. Ultron - High attack with a long range.

Also Good: Moonstone, Sif, Valkyrie #12, Molly Hayes.
